Comprehensive Sex Education (the NJ Learning Standards) compared to Sexual Risk Avoidance.
I am excited to share with you the “New Jersey Sex Education Video Series with Lori Kuykendall.” This is our latest resource to help inform New Jerseyans about the high-risk sexual activities being promoted by Planned Parenthood, Advocates for Youth, Garden State Equality, and others through the Sex Ed Learning Standards. Above all, we want to educate people on the positive alternative – the Standards for Optimal Sexual Development.
Lori Kuykendall is President of Beacon Health Education Resources. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion from Liberty University. Over the next three weeks, we will be releasing New Jersey centric videos that she made for you, parents, teachers, education stakeholders, and legislators.
In this week’s video, she compares the difference between Comprehensive Sex Education (the NJ Learning Standards) compared to Sexual Risk Avoidance.
You will see the stunning contrast between teaching students to live healthy lives (Sexual Risk Avoidance) compared to the dangerous messaging that minimizes the seriousness of sexually transmitted infections that is found throughout Comprehensive Sex Education. CSE can also be described as “condom-based education” or “contraception-based education.”
What can you do with these weekly videos over the next three weeks?
1. Share them with your friends, family members, and others through texts, emails, and social media. Use them to answer questions others might have regarding what is happening in New Jersey public schools.
2. Email them to members of your local school board. Their school board member email address might be posted on the school district website, or you might have to call the district number and ask for it.
3. Donate $100, $50, or even $10 to help us market this video series. We need to expand the reach of these videos across the state to people who might not be accurately informed about this issue.
Together, we can make New Jersey a place for families to thrive!
