The President, Congress, and the Supreme Court take action to protect parents and their children
Monday’s inauguration ceremony of President Trump was a visible picture patriotic charisma that young people in our country was so desperate to witness. Most political analysts and journalists were fixated on Trump’s bold declaration of the “Golden Age of America”. But what stood out the most to me, was his promise of an America once again rooted in good old-fashioned common sense.
“Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders. With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense. It’s all about common sense.”
President Donald Trump, Inauguration Address, Jan 20, 2025
What does common sense revolution look like in action? Here is what happened over the past 10 days in Washington D.C.
✅ Monday, Jan 14 – The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Save Girls Sports bill by a small margin of 218-206 (only 2 Democrats voted to protect girls!).
The Senate will be more challenging because of the 60-vote filibuster rule. This would require at least seven Democrats to vote in favor of invoking cloture on a bill, meaning limiting any further debate, but allowing amendments without debate, and then the actual legislative majority vote. On Wednesday, Jan 22, the Democrats in the U.S. Senate refused to invoke cloture and move forward the “Born Alive Infant Protection Act” that would require doctors under penalty of law to give emergency medical care to babies who survive an abortion.
✅ Wednesday, Jan 16 – The United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments that will decide if age verification laws protecting minors from online pornography will be upheld nationwide. Assemblyman Jay Webber (R) has sponsored bill A4146 that would do this very thing in NJ.
✅ Thursday, Jan 17 – The United States Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that will decide if parents can opt their children out of LGTBQ-themed storybooks because participating in that instruction (indoctrination) violates their religious beliefs and their First Amendment right to freely exercise their religion.
✅ Monday, Jan 20 – President Donald Trump signs Executive Order “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.” This EO establishes the position of the federal government that gender is defined by the biological realities of male and female, and therefore Americans cannot be compelled to use incorrect pronouns, because they have the First Amendment right to recognize and express the binary biological differences between men and women.
Friends, there is momentum at the national level to reestablish basic truths and restore fundamental rights back to the American people. For that we are grateful! But the battle for these truths and rights continues here in New Jersey, and we have been on the front lines battling for families for thirty years.
We need your help to educate and reach more people with the facts. Please consider giving a donation this week to further our work in making New Jersey a state where families thrive, life is protected, and parental rights are respected – so that God is honored. Click here to donate today!
