Early Voting Starts Tuesday for the Primary

Find out who represents you the best

This might catch you a little off guard, but primary voting for U.S. Senator and for the House of Representatives seats has actually been happening for a few weeks now. Vote‑by‑mail ballots went out earlier to everyone who requested one. And starting this Tuesday, May 26, early in‑person voting opens at select polling locations and runs through Sunday, May 31. If you prefer to vote on Election Day itself, your last chance to cast a ballot is Tuesday, June 2.

A lot of people think about voting for Congress in November, when the general election rolls around. But the primary is where you get to shape the choices that appear on that November ballot. It’s your chance to pick the person who best reflects your views and values from a group of candidates who may politically agree on the big picture, but differ on priorities or how they’d tackle the issues that matter most to you.

And here’s something important: if you live in a district that’s unlikely to flip parties in the general election, the primary is really where your voice carries the most weight. It’s your opportunity to signal to your party what kind of leadership you want to see and it can even encourage future candidates to step forward.

I’m sure the next question on your mind might be, “OK… so who should I vote for?” While I can’t tell you that, I can point you to a resource that helps you compare candidates in a clear, issue‑focused way. iVoterGuide.com is a national voter guide created specifically for Congressional races. It lets you see how primary candidates rank on issues like life, religious liberty, national security, the economy, and more. It’s a helpful way to understand where each candidate stands so you can make an informed decision about who best reflects your values.

As we head into Memorial Day, we’ll pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms—including the freedom to vote. It would be a shame to commemorate their sacrifice on Monday and then overlook our own civic responsibility in the days that follow. Your vote truly matters, and this is the moment to make it count.

If you believe in the importance of informed voting and strong civic engagement, would you consider supporting this work? Your gift helps us provide clear resources, host educational events, and equip voters to engage thoughtfully in this primary season. Click here to give! Thank you for standing with us in this mission.
