When is enough ever enough?
I have endured some difficult to digest political speeches before. No doubt about it. That is why I expected this past Thursday’s 2026 fiscal year speech by Governor Murphy to be business as usual when it comes to abortion funding. I am far from naive. He will not show any remorse in his final budget regarding the state’s $268 million investment into Planned Parenthood and the Big Abortion industry set since his administration took office in 2018.
But I wasn’t ready for this!
His administration devised a groundbreaking strategy to increase the number of abortions in New Jersey by launching a national recruitment drive to persuade abortionists to relocate to our state.
In his words, they are under attack in states with gestational limits on abortion. He is investing millions of dollars in the 2025-2026 state budget to offer abortionists who want to perform late-term abortions an incentive to leave states like Florida and Georgia and relocate here, where there is no gestational limit on when a child’s life can be ended by an elective abortion procedure.
Keep in mind, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion organization, the number of abortions each year in New Jersey increased from 48,840 in 2020 to over 58,000 in 2024!
But why stop there?
Governor Murphy now wants to use your taxes confiscated from your paychecks to attract abortionists from across the nation to come here to get that number even higher.
Don’t believe me? Here is the excerpt from his budget speech:

Governor Murphy delivers his budget address for FY26 in the general assembly chambers of the Statehouse on February 25, 2025 (Rich Hundley III/NJ Governors Office)
“And with our budget, we are going to make the largest investment into protecting reproductive rights (abortion) in our state’s history by fully funding women’s health care.
Since my first budget, we have quadrupled funding for reproductive health care services. (abortion)
And our budget will build upon this progress by launching a new OB-GYN incentive program. (Only OB-GYN doctors who want to perform abortions. Read below…)
With this program, we are going to attract doctors and medical professionals from across the nation to come and join us in the Garden State.
Why?
Because, like every state in the nation, New Jersey is facing a looming shortage of reproductive health care providers. (abortion)
And, with this investment, New Jersey will get ahead of that challenge by creating a new pipeline for these professionals.
But let me be clear: this is also about defending our New Jersey values.
Because if these health care heroes are going to be targeted by politicians elsewhere, we will always stand up for them and their ability to provide care. (OB-GYN doctors are not targeted by politicians unless he is framing a narrative relating to those who perform abortions in pro-life states)
My priority is ensuring that every woman can access the best possible health care, when they need it. Period.
And reproductive rights (abortion) is just one of the fundamental rights that our budget will help protect.”
Friends, next year, a new governor will propose a state budget. We pray their priorities will shift to protecting life by ending Planned Parenthood’s reliance on public funds to support their profit-driven abortion initiatives.

Though of the week
If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much. Luke 6:33
A thriving family is a community, which leaves the front door open wide enough to receive all who need love and protection. For a family to serve the Lord well, keep the door of your heart open to others for in serving others, you are serving Jesus Himself.
