Legislative Meetings with Save the Storks
This week, I had the honor of coordinating key legislative meetings for Amy Stephens from Save the Storks—a national organization dedicated to providing free ultrasounds and life-affirming services to women facing unplanned pregnancies. As the former House of Representatives Majority Leader in the Colorado legislature, Ms. Stephens visited New Jersey to warn lawmakers about the escalating attacks on pregnancy resource centers, both nationwide and especially in Colorado.
Amy Stephens has long been at the forefront of this battle as a policy and political strategist for Save the Storks. Sadly, she has witnessed firsthand the efforts of Colorado’s governor and attorney general to limit and restrict pregnancy resource centers from providing essential maternal child healthcare to mothers in need. This same anti-life, anti-child agenda is rapidly advancing in our state. Amy equipped our legislators with tools, resources, and strategies to defend the vital work of pregnancy resource centers—both in the media and through legislative advocacy.

On Wednesday, we met with Assemblyman Jay Webber (R – Parsippany), who has longed been a vocal and unashamed defender of Life in our state legislature. He has led the efforts to oppose Assembly bill 861 that seeks to defame, derail, and incorrectly define the work of pregnancy resource centers.
On Thursday, we organized a private invitational meeting at the Statehouse in Trenton for allied Members of the Assembly. Assemblyman Antwan McClellan (R- Ocean City), Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia (R-Sparta), Assemblyman Mike Inganamort (R-Sparta), and other legislative staff were able to join us for this important discussion.

Our introduction to Amy Stephens and Save the Storks was made possible through our strong relationship with Deborah Biskey, Executive Director of Options for Her, which serves women in Ocean City, Trenton, and Cherry Hill. We are also deeply grateful to the staff of Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia (R) and Assemblyman Mike Inganamort (R) for their invaluable assistance in scheduling the meeting in Trenton.
It pains me to say this, but it reflects the hard reality of our current state of affairs. I emphasize this message at each of my ‘What Can Be Done’ events.
What is on the ballot this year in the race for governor is not whether the State will protect life, but whether you are allowed to save life!
Yes, this is the reality—not hyperbole or political sensationalism. Under the Murphy administration, the state has codified abortion up to birth into law, disregarding the Biblical moral imperative for government—to protect human life. Beyond that, Attorney General Matt Platkin and certain left-wing legislators are working to hinder, if not outright obstruct, the lifesaving efforts of pregnancy resource centers.
What can you do to protect these centers? Help us elect a conservative-minded governor this year—someone who will veto legislation aimed at undermining the work of pregnancy resource centers and appoint a new attorney general who will revoke the State’s misleading consumer alert against them.
Remember, the power of your vote gives a new governor the power to veto!
