Attorney General Matt Platkin’s abuse of power

November 19th will go down as a sad day for the judicial system in the state of New Jersey. Two courtrooms in Newark were filled on Tuesday with supporters of parents and pro-lifers who were forced to defend themselves against the office of New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin.

Courtroom 1: Parental Rights cease to exist at the schoolhouse door

Marlboro, Middletown, and Manalapan school districts in Monmouth County that modified Transgender Student Guideline Policy #5756 were appealing the preliminary injunction previously ordered by Judge Baumann that prohibited these school districts from implementing the changes.

Immediately after their case was heard, Hanover Township School District was brought before the panel of judges to defend themselves for creating policy #8463 that keeps parents reasonably informed about their child’s social and emotional well-being, including their mental health. The State accused them of harmful intent, even though no harm and no evidence were presented. Instead, the State urged the judges to foresee possible harm and therefore rule against the school district’s parent notification policy.

Please keep in mind, only these four school districts have faced the fury and intimidation of the Attorney General because they modified Policy #5756 or created a new policy in its place. The 27 school districts who simply repealed #5756 have not faced any legal action by the State.

The Attorney General’s office admitted again in court this week that Policy #5756 is not mandatory. How does one get civil rights violations filed against them and dragged before the court for modifying a “non-mandated” policy is beyond me!

This is the weaponization of the legal system pushing parents out of their child’s life, the State superseding parents as their guardians, and Left-wing activists replacing the child’s family with their own community.

Courtroom 2: Pregnancy Resource Centers subpoenaed for private records of their ministry partners

Our friends at First Choice were in court to protect the confidentiality of their financial supporters and clients. As their executive director Aimee Huber has said before, “We have nothing to hide, but much to protect.”

Why does the most powerful law enforcement agency in the state want to know who donates money to these clinics? Does Planned Parenthood disclose their donors?

Why are these crisis pregnancy centers targeted by the State for offering women alternatives to abortion and performing free ultrasounds and other pregnancy related care?

If the Attorney General is successful in forcing these religious organizations to publicly disclose their supporters, without cause or reason, what church or non-profit will be next? Thankfully, First Choice is also fighting in federal court, hoping the Third Circuit Court of Appeals will overrule our state court on constitutional grounds. Keep praying for a successful outcome!

What can you do?

Remember, November 2025 is the gubernatorial election.

If elected, a new conservative minded governor will immediately replace the Attorney General. These cases against parents and pro-lifers will be dropped.
