Republicans come back to NJ with enthusiasm
The Presidential ticket for the Republican party is now clear. Excitement for the historically conservative political party has risen to historic levels. Former president Donald Trump’s message of national unity in the immediate aftermath of his attempted assassination, combined with the American Dream success story of J.D. Vance, is winning a message of resilience and a reminder that America is a nation worth fighting for.
We were grateful to see one of New Jersey’s own, Congressman Jeff Van Drew, be given the opportunity to address from the podium all the RNC delegates from across the country on his journey from being a longtime “conservative Democrat” serving in elected office, to now a Republican powerhouse in South Jersey.

“I didn’t like what the Democrat party was doing to our great United States of America,”
Congressman Jeff Van Drew
Read what New Jersey Legislators, serving as official delegates, took away from their experience at the RNC Convention.

Senator Mike Testa (R – Vineland):“It was an honor to join our delegation and show unity with other Republicans across the country in the wake of the attempt on Donald Trump’s life. Enthusiasm amongst Republicans has never been higher, that’s why President Trump will flip New Jersey and take back the White House in November.”

Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger (R-Middletown) “The convention has been a phenomenal show of unity, energy, and solid messaging. Some of the biggest applause came when speakers mentioned parental rights and the indoctrination of our children. This is clearly one of the foremost issues going into the 2024 presidential election. I’m very proud of the Republican party for standing firm and delivering a message of hope for a return to sanity and the sanctity of parental rights in every facet of our children’s lives.”

Assemblyman Paul Kanitra (R-Point Pleasant Beach) “I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of New Jersey and national history here in Milwaukee. Watching our party galvanize around Donald Trump and JD Vance after the assassination attempt had me swelling up with pride. And the convention’s focus on renewed family values gives me true optimism for the future of this country.”
We at the NJFPC continue to meet and work throughout the summer on issues important to Christians and social conservatives. I will be heading to Washington, D.C. next week to engage other State Family Policy leaders at our National Convention, and we will also participate in the SoConCon (the Social Conservative Conference) which follows. There we will listen to divergent perspectives, develop strategies, and share the victories and challenges we face in New Jersey. Please keep me in your prayers as I travel.
Please join us in this important work by making a one-time contribution today or by becoming a monthly sustainer which will ensure that our efforts continue for years to come! The other side won’t stop and with your help, neither will we!
