Our team was in Trenton today, testifying in the Senate Judiciary Committee to protect the position of Andy Mulvihill, Vice President of the New Jersey State Board of Education.

Why? Because there has been no greater voice in defense of parental rights on the State Board of Education than Andy Mulvihill. He is more than just a trusted NO vote on harmful and offensive policies. He is unafraid to challenge the echo chamber of his colleagues on the State Board of Education – and they respect him for that! He was “reelected” by his colleagues in July 2023 to the position of Vice President of the State Board of Education. He has served on the Board since 2011.

Now Governor Murphy is trying to remove him!

Why?

✔️ He voted NO on the Sex Ed Learning Standards

✔️ He voted NO on the Equity in Education policy

✔️ He voted NO on lowering the academic standards for high school graduation

✔️ He has been a relentless proponent for charter schools and school choice options for students stuck in failing school districts.

Despite other members of the New Jersey State Board of Education serving in “hold over status” because their terms have expired, Governor Murphy wants Andy Mulvihill removed. We can not let that happen!

The person nominated to replace him on the State Board of Education is Dr. Claudine Keenan, interim vice provost of Stockton University. The Senate Judiciary Committee released her from the committee on Thursday to move forward for her “advise and consent” vote by the full Senate. Every Republican on the committee voted NO on her nomination. Every Democrat voted YES.

Now we need you to contact your State Senator!

Urge them to vote NO on the “advise and consent” vote of Dr. Claudine Keenan when her name is presented to them in an upcoming Senate voting session. Take 30 seconds to complete the online form to help keep Andy Mulvihill serving as the Vice President of the New Jersey State Board of Education.
