What will 2025 look like for New Jersey?

Politics and Policies to be aware of

This year will be nothing less than monumental for the parental rights and pro-life movements in our state. I am not exaggerating. Your family and church congregation have a golden opportunity to retain local control in education policy decisions and protect pregnancy resource centers from unfair government harassment.

First, we elect a new governor this year!

New Jersey’s state constitution gives incredible power to our executive branch. Unlike almost any other state in the union, on day one, the future governor can appoint a new Attorney General. This will immediately resolve the current weaponization of the highest law enforcement office in our state that dragged school boards and pregnancy centers into court last year!

Let’s keep in mind, a new governor can not repeal prior legislation without a new legislature willing to pass laws reversing their previous actions. The State Assembly is up for election this year, but unfortunately, the State Senate is not. Therefore, if a conservative minded candidate becomes our next governor, he may not be able to change old laws, but he can veto any future laws and appoint a new Commissioner of Education, along with a new Attorney General. I can not wait!

The New Jersey Family Policy Center will have a voter guide for the primary election that will take place on June 10, 2025.

Second, before the end of 2025, every school board in the state will have to adopt a book challenge policy where parents, students, and teachers within a district can request a book title be restricted to certain age groups because of sexually explicit materials that are developmentally grade inappropriate.

The New Jersey Family Policy Center will be publishing a new resource next week that will give you all the facts on how to persuade your local school board to repeal Policy #5756 – Transgender Student Guidelines and to adopt age appropriate criteria for librarians and book review committees to reference in deciding what books should be made available in public school libraries.

Our team is ready to educate voters, and advocate in legislative committees, at the State Board of Education, and at local school boards. Together, we can make New Jersey be a state where families thrive, life is cherished, and parental rights are protected – so that God is honored.
